Other side of the cave[sep]
This was the last time I was able to walk through the cave before the city shut it down and barred it in. The old histories of mining were still there, fading into the rest of the Earth. It was refreshing to go there and walk under that dark cave tunnel, erasing the street lights and car hum and concrete chatter temporarily. The dam that overlooks the town was fun to walk and run and hop along. Waterfall steep dropped directly below. We were not all safe people, at the time, but knew better and did not live in bubbles which could not be punctured. Somebody spray painted a proposal up there on the dam walkway. I imagine the couple who both walked beneath the cave and came to light again.. and one led the other to the words of proposal, there, at a peak overlooking so much of the town, were a history was not stained or decaying but sturdy and quite genuine still.[sep]
Did they merge together in love, or what they call union?[sep]
I'm sure it will still be accessible. But now it will be more dangerous than ever. We are talking doubled-up climbing ropes, into basically a towering pit of gorge wall circling all ways. I took this photo there and it is making me think about all this. The Crows and Cranes will go there whenever they please. It will be no problem for them, at all.
