Is your kitty an addict?

Some of you may remember I've posted this before. My baby is 3 years old, two years ago I started him on "TEMPTATIONS" kitty snacks...unfortunately, not long ago I read up on these and discovered what a huge mistake I made. these are HIGHLY contraindicated for feline consumption, in fact can be very harmful.

Since then, I've tried several products to replace these to no avail...some members suggested just making him go cold turkey and he would eat regular food when hungry enough. However, if you could see his big, sad and winsome eye's, it's just too hard, he doesn't understand my being a well meaning daddy...I just feel mean.(and guilty)

Today, went to Pet Smart, and this very helpful employee told me she had gone through exactly the same thing. She suggested these; a "Halo" product, these snacks are called "HEALTHSOME" and OMG, they worked, I'm going to slowly integrate these with the "Temptations" product eventually discontinuing completely. These are made with real chicken, no grains but fibers from fruit and veggies.

They are of course are more expensive, but for me well worth the peace of mind, the satisfaction of knowing I'm providing a healthy diet for a healthful, long life.

yes most of the people who work at PetSmart are really good. Some are just their for their paychecks and not as helpful (like every other business on the planet) but many are really good and helpful. Glad you found something.

Pet food manufacturers are like human food manufacturers, they load MSG in the food to make us addicted to it. Which is a good reason to get off the processed foods. If I ever have another cat it'll get food I cook for it myself.

I nudged your shoulder when i said it. Its all good.
An in-between snack, yes, he get's his moist morning and night, a total dry food diet isn't good.

But those are just treats... you weren't giving them as food, right?
