Do You Make A Yuck Face When Certain Ingredients Are Added To Dishes?

Like cilantro in dips or other foods or bacon in veggies or certain spices in foods?
zeeva70 · F
Yup. Like raisins to potato salad.

People adding ingredients that don't belong, especially in traditional holiday meals like Thanksgiving, without a warning.

@cherokeepatti yes and apricots too
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Raine oh yes I had that one time....beef with apricots sounds good.
Raine · F
@cherokeepatti a very common dish in Australia is apricot chicken. I had it while there and make it occasionally now. It's very tasty.

Mustard and horseradish

@SW-User well also someone might have tried to make her eat one after she got sick or indigestion from eating one.

@SW-User well when a child is young it is easy to get a phobia when something happens that frightens them.
Nimbus · M
Nope.

I add chilli sauce to mayo, delicious.

Also brown sauce on beans on toast :)
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus I worked at a Congregate Meal Program site when I was in my 20’s and there was a little old lady that would tell me not to put fish on her plate when we were serving the food. She made that same exact face when she was standing in line and she did it every time we had fish on the menu.
Nimbus · M
@cherokeepatti lol, must have hated it 😝
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus oh with a passion. That face though, I still remember it. Almost like when you tell a child you’re having liver & spinach for dinner.
Depends.

If it's like, not meant to go with the dish, then yeah, it'll get a reaction from me. Perhaps not a yuck face but at the very least a raised brow.
@cherokeepatti That's too much sweet and not enough savory/salt/sour. Sucks you had to throw it away; I would of used mustard.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Amyrakunejo It couldn’t be saved, she boiled the cauliflower to death. I always had to throw out anything she gave me. She’d give me stuff that didn’t agree with her....like I said it wasn’t fit to feed a dog.
@cherokeepatti Ugh. I hate wasting food, but yeah, understandable.

I do not like ciliranto I went to a Mexican place asked for none and they put extra on instead 🤢

I like bacon, but I have no interested in it being dipped in chocolate😖 ... I prefer my bacon and chocolate separate
SW-User
I like cilantro 🥺

My mum puts cinnamon on EVERYTHING, not just a little bit either. 🤢
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User I put cinnamon in the meatballs I made last night, not as much as I usually do.
SW-User
@cherokeepatti Mum? 🤣🤣

Goes nice on roast potatoes and lamb, but thats it.
@cherokeepatti It’s all good providing you don’t over fo it.
4meAndyou · F
Ketchup on fried eggs, canned peas in ANYTHING, and vinegar on potato salad instead of mayonnaise.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou I can eat salsa or hot sauce on scrambled eggs but ketchup on scrambled eggs turns my stomach to think about it
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti Huevos rancheros...I made those a long time ago when I was into making my own tortillas. Pretty good, but the combination of eggs and tomatoes in any form have turned my stomach a little bit since college, when I tried the Women's Olympic Ski Team 20 lbs in 2 weeks diet. 🤢

Yes, that's my face when I encounter pungent cheese in something like Romano. I have an immediate reaction of disgust to it. 😖
Cilantro I don't mind.

Figs, raisins in some things, still not crazy about apples in potato salad.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
Cilantro for me. I'm not a fan of it, but I'll eat it in small quantities.
Raine · F
Yes red wine in cooking. It stinks and tastes awful.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Raine I made Beef Burgundy one time a long time ago, it was OK but would have been better without the wine...
Raine · F
@cherokeepatti I don't mind white wine in cooking, but red is not nice.
Tell that grumpy cat to have some kibbles and bits!
Lilnonames · F
Haha i used to but no more i made tuna fish with french onion dip and hot sauce
