Has anyone noticed that it takes forever for Halloween candy to go on sale?

I have gone to a Grocery Store and a Dollar store to see if I can get some cheap Halloween candy.
Yesterday there wasn't even a candy sale.
November 2 and it is a big 25% off.
What is going on with holiday candy sales.
Are they really trying to torture us?

The markups were already held to a minimum as wholesale prices have been going up for sugar and cocoa over the years. Count yourself lucky you can still afford any.

Now that does make sense, slim margins on profit. They didn't even have prices marked when they first went on sale probably because they were afraid of scaring customers off!

@Pfuzylogic: Two things. Candy theft in retail establishments is insanely through the roof. Next, the addicts who can't afford or won't spend money.

Get this.

In a nearby suburb where our grand daughter went there were thousands migrating in vans and cars from the central city. Unloading a slew of kids.

For example one spectacle I saw was an extra obese male driving from house to house. His non costumed adult female passenger would get out, go to a door, and get back in then he would proceed to the next home. It's amazing.

All these people addicted to chocolate and who is paying? You and me and the store owners. For crissakes they beg for people to steal it by placing it in narrow checkout lanes and in front of counters where nobody has a way to see them steal it. smh
