What's your favorite appetizer?

I really enjoy nachos way too much. The sad part is most places have terrible nachos so it's always a gamble

Hot artichoke dip
1 8 oz block cream cheese
1 Cup Mayonnaise
1 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
12 oz Jar (or 2 – 7.5 oz jars) of Marinated Artichoke Hearts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Drain artichoke hearts, leaving a tiny bit of marinade behind. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Pour into baking dish and bake on middle rack for approximately 30 minutes, until bubbling and starting to turn golden brown. Remove and serve with tortilla chips, baguette, crackers.

@curiosi I'm giving you best answer just for the thoroughness of adding the recipe.

French fries but I heard it’s more unhealthy than the burger lol
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@Moon3624 haha depends on the burger and the fries but you definitely get more nutrients from burgers in most cases lol. I love good fries though.
Caprice · 41-45, F
Spinach dip
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@Caprice Solid choice. With artichokes?
Caprice · 41-45, F
I’m not choosy:) It’s good with or without @Turtlepower

@Caprice True.

This cheese platter is amazingly good.

2-4 green apples, cored, sliced and soaked in a medium bowl of water with 1/3 cup lemon juice. (The water and lemon juice prevent the apple slices from turning brown).

4-5 soft dried figs

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 (8 oz) block of New York Extra sharp cheddar cheese

Honey

Remove stems or any hard bits from the figs, and smoosh them together with the chopped walnuts. When you've created a fig and nut paste, place the cheese block in the center of a serving platter.

Press the fig and nut paste on top of the cheese. Drizzle generously with honey.

Drain the apples and dry them on paper towels. then arrange them on the platter around the cheese.

Serve cheese and fig/nut/honey slices with each slice of apple.

@4meAndyou Sounds tasty.

Blooming onions
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@SW-User I liked the outback blooming onion more as a kid but it's a bit too greasy for me, but I had it at another restaurant and it was some with a beer batter that was good
thepreposterouspanda · 31-35, M
Ooh, I really like mozzarella sticks. :o
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@thepreposterouspanda Thank you sir!
thepreposterouspanda · 31-35, M
@Turtlepower You are quite welcome! I was actually just trying to think of my LEAST favorite appetizer, and I couldn't really come up with anything. 🤔
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@thepreposterouspanda haha yeah I can't either.
Carla · 61-69, F
I like a well made crab stuffed mushroom with lemon butter sauce.
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@Carla Fancy and delicious
Carla · 61-69, F
@Turtlepower yes...mmmmmm
Zoranna · F
At the moment Mini Spring Rolls but that's subject to change. lol
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@Zoranna Ohhh tasty. I get those frequently too :x
RosaDawn · 46-50, F
Brushettas or baked brie
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@RosaDawn oh that's really good too! Especially when I'm in a crunchy appetizer mood without wanting something too filling like nachos.
RosaDawn · 46-50, F
@Turtlepower So many good things to eat lol
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@RosaDawn Exactly!
ColoradoKid · 41-45, M
Well when places call nacho cheese and tortilla chips nachos I can see why it's a gamble. I used to like mozzarella sticks. I would have to go with boneless buffalo wings.
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@ColoradoKid Solid choice. I'm a bit of a spice snob though.
SW-User
I agree most places have horrible nachos. In a pinch, Qdoba's nachos are pretty good though, have you tried theirs?
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@SW-User I have not. Is that a chain restaurant? I've never heard of it before.
SW-User
@Turtlepower Yeah it’s a chain. I haven’t been able to find any other restaurant here that does them well. I’m not a fan of the giant cans of nacho cheese sauce. Qdoba has good queso and fresh ingredients
Make your own at home. Most restaurants do have awful ones - all glumpy with fake cheese sauce...
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@Mamapolo2016 Agreed. I kind of like to gamble on it tbh. it's fun for me. Also I typically only get them from small businesses hoping to one day find the crown Jewel of nachos.
SW-User
It used to be spinach/artichoke dip. But now, I don't have appetizers. They just fuck up my appetite, lol
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@SW-User I get them a lot when I'm already not that hungry but I know I need to eat.
SW-User
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@SW-User Exotic choice. I've never had it.
SW-User
@Turtlepower
Wwwhhhaaaaa?! Never had? It's God's greatest creation.

Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@SW-User Next time I have the chance I'll try it.
passingby8 · 31-35, F
