What’s a food dish that is meaningful to you?

And why?
dad taught me to make it; in Michigan, it's called 'Hungarian Goulash', although it's nothing like real goulash of that region. The version I grew up with is effectively a chili with pasta thrown in. it's quite good and I made it many times as a kid. haven't made it in years.

That sounds like a great comfort food meal. @stound
I like all my granny's food.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. That was my favorite when I was a kid, but there were tough moments in my life when that was about what I lived on. It got tiresome, but it was also kind of comforting.

I don't do nostalgia food a lot from my childhood because my parents cooked so much varied stuff, but saskatoon pie is 100% pure family comfort for me.

My Irish grandma used to make spanakopita when I was a kid, and I can never eat it without thinking of her. Such a random thing for her to learn to make, but I always loved it when she did.

That’s awesome. I’ve seen people make it on cooking shows but I’ve never eaten it myself @summersong

Blueberry crunch. My grandma used to make it just for me every summer:)

That sounds good! Is it like a cobbler of some sort?@Caprice

It’s kind of like a crumb cake made with fresh blueberries and pecans. It’s my favorite dessert☺️@Effloresce
