I think I'm gonna go Vegan starting from this week . Did anybody do it . Any good advice

I'm mostly vegan. I do eat some animal products but it's like maybe once every couple of months when i'm out and it's hard to avoid. The thing i found is to not make the mistake of just cutting out animal products and doing nothing else or you'll struggle with lack of nutrients that the animal products give you. So things to focus on are iron, zinc, calcium and VitB12. Also Selenium is necessary although in very small quantities or it's toxic. One brazil nut gives you most of your daily RDI so add that to your list. Also you can gain weight going vegan by suddenly finding your protein levels drop and your carbohydrates go up, so keep an eye on that.

@SW-User where did you hear that not eating meat means a lack of nutrients? I've not eaten any flesh since 1970 when I visited a slaughterhouse...I am extremely healthy and get all the iron, zinc, calcium and VitB12 from other sources.

@whippersnapper I've been a strict vegetarian for over 40 years...I tried to cross over to vegan but it is just too extreme for me. I don't know anyone who was able to go from meat to vegan in one fell swoop

@whippersnapper It isn't really...when you think about it it only means eliminating a couple of food groups.There is so much to eat!

@Bearserks Not if the bread is made with animal products - eggs etc.
