What's your greatest cooking disaster?

I cooked for a day and a half straight and it all went well but I keep thinking of times when it didn't.

Probably when my jacket caught on fire. It ran up my sleeve and I reacted by screaming and running to my sister because i’m clever like that.

@NickiHijab She's older and wasn't like five at the time, right? :D

@CountScrofula Actually she was 4, gawsh, i’m not that stupid

lol, nah she’s 10 years older than me.

@NickiHijab To be fair, it would have been a lot funnier for me if she was that much younger.
I once sprayed my oven and forgot to wash it out and had my ham baking and smelled the god awful smell of the oven spray getting hot. The ham had to be thrown away and we had to eat out😳

@Mondayschild AUGH! That's exactly the sort of thing I'd do.
@CountScrofula I can laugh about it now but I couldn't then.

Set the oven mitts on fire by putting it on the stove forgetting that one of the flattop burners was hot. Lost the mit and burned what was in the oven

I cooked this beautiful roast and when I pulled it out of the oven it slipped right out of my hands and fell right on the hardwood floors and shattered the baking dish in a thousand pieces. I was so bummed. I also once burned my stomach while cooking scrambled eggs in the nude one morning LOL. I have never made that mistake again.

@SW-User I think we've all suffered from naked cooking splatter. And I feel so sad about your roast!

@CountScrofula I may have shed a tear 😂

I don't really have any huge disasters, just minor disappointments. My roommate, on the other hand, once set fire to spaghetti somehow.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna That is impressive! I once set the stove on fire boiling water but that was grease in a dirty element.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
Well, at least that makes sense! I still have no idea how she set fire to spaghetti. It just doesn't add up.
