I seriously have no clue Katniss. What is it?
@DarkHeaven 🤔 looks like a smoothie
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Stark They're proto-smoothies. Thinner than most you'd have today.
@Stark Apparently so!
“When was the first smoothie made?
Smoothies aren’t an American invention. They go back centuries to cultures around the world, and then to South America as a “fruit slush”. But it’s safe to say that the American smoothies, a pureed fruit drink, began in the early 1920’s when Julius Freed, another young man with a sensitive stomach, began looking for a way to enjoy fresh squeezed orange juice. His stomach couldn’t handle the acidity of fresh squeezed oranges, so he found a way and a few choice ingredients to make them less acidic and a little frothy. His friends loved them and said, “Give me an orange, Julius”, and thus his store, the “Orange Julius” was born.”

Man, bubble tea is the only happiness I have left in my life...but there is one shady place here that sells them. I'm almost convinced the little balls are eyes of their victims.
@JarJarBoom 😨 you haven’t tried that one have you?
JarJarBoom · 41-45, F
@Stark Its bubble tea...of course I will drink it
Straylight · 31-35, F
It's delish 😋
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Looove it. My little town of 3,000 has a joint that makes bubble tea and it makes me super happy. Taro is the best.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Stark It's funny because taro is a bland tuber like a potato or casava. The drink is blue for some reason and just has a very mild pleasant taste.
@CountScrofula do they put something in it to make it that color ?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Stark ... looking it up, nevermind. Taro is actually purpley-blue so that's a natural colour, even if I doubt the drink mix is at all natural, lol
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
My brother's Chinese girlfriend got him addicted to it. I haven't tried it, yet, but he's been tryin' to get me to.
@Tatsumi it’s okay in small quantities to me 😆 I honestly only can take a few sips of it because it has a strong milky flavor, but it’s good and it also has a strong tea flavor. The tea flavor is stronger than any tea I’ve tasted, makes it taste more natural to me. You should try it when you get a chance though just for the experience, it’s always fun to try new things.

I never had it but i like it
@DarlingSelah how if you’ve never had it?😆
@Stark idk.😌 It appeals to me. Its cute & whimsical.
summersong · F
Nope 😖
@summersong 😆 why?
summersong · F
@Stark the bubbles are just such a weird texture.
@summersong yeah, they are I like that about it but I can see how someone wouldn’t like it because it’s very odd.
Iamjessie · M
Never had it but it sounds good 😄
SW-User
It's a bit overrated. I don't dislike it, but I don't wait in line around the block for it like many of my fellow students do.
@SW-User people wait around the block for if ?🤔 hm it’s not very common where I live unless I got in the city where there’s a bunch of college students.
SW-User
@Stark I live in a college town and it's quite popular here. Although it does seem to be mostly Asian students 🤔
@SW-User oh yeah, I went to a ramen place for my birthday and it was popular for its bubble tea filled with college students but mainly Asian yeah.
Poet123 · 26-30, M
