Does cereal count as soup?

Soup is a dish of meat, fish and/or vegetables cooked in water or stock. A bowl of cereal has none of those ingredients nor is it cooked.

I'm pretty sure it's called cereal and not soup for a reason...

Well the corn or the rice is cooked but it’s just in milk I wouldn’t say it’s soup.

If I offered soup and served cereal, or vice versa, my guest would be SUPER mad.
