I Love Books

A classic in crazy literature

I should add some more thoughts. I have my own nervous predicament, but nothing like what Schreber had, he developed a whole new intricate cosmology, he saw himself as god or ... well its been some time since i read it so the details are fuzzy, but it is fairly out there. Freud studied it and came up with some psychological guesswork. For someone who's interested in mental illness, Freud is ok stuff, but Schreber's memoirs is more like the real deal, it ought to make one salivate, and the memory of it is what brought me to share this here, not hard to forget having read it, i think i shall have to reread it soon to wallow in the wackiness some more, maybe then come back here edit in some more details about it to help entice new readers of this dark, disturbing and fascinating journey. Even at the end i recall when he's back at his old job and no longer in the sanatorium, you get the feeling that maybe he should have stayed there.
