I Love Psychology

I have personality psychological issues. I mean that I already developed since a kid self-defence mechanisms that are ingrain in my personality. It means...the cure is pretty difficult. You can’t change what is part of your personality.
I’m done with psychotherapy. They did all what they can do.
Yes, these personality traits suck my daily day.
Did you see some kind of improvement with psychotherapy for your personality traits that affect your daily life? If so, what kind of therapy was it? I’m a little stuck, misbelief...and how tell it better, frustrated.

Honestly, I did feel better. I was seeing my psychologist for a couple of months and she gave me some medicines. There was an improvement though I stopped at some point, I can't really remember why though, maybe I thought I was feeling much better and that atm I could keep on with my life like any other person. The problems, eventually, came back, but sort of worse, since I'm older (I was 16 when I started therapy) and a „grown up". I just got tired from everything. For the last couple of months I've been thinking of visiting her again. Or finding peace inside my mind. I heard that yoga help as well.
I hope you'll solve your problems. Just don't give up. Psych problems are much harder than just a wound. They need lots of time, love and support. As long as there's a reason for you to stay in this world, you should fight. Sometimes I just pretend I'm not "sick", in a way in which I do everything like other people would, putting aside what my conscious is telling me and doing what I think is right. Like reading, working, chatting with people etc. Just a regular life.
In the end, I believe every problem has a solution. You just gotta endure til the end to see it.

@Melpomene Thank you for your nice and kind words.
I wish you the best.
You know...there aren’t what we think “normal” people. Some struggles with one things and others with another things.

@twistermind I know, everyone is fu*ked up in one way or another, some are just better at hiding it.
My psychologist also said that talking about problems helps, whether it's with a close friend or a stranger, because we're not alone and there are people with similar problems (thus making us "normal", right?)

I cannot say that psychotherapy made me change my personality traits (I don't think they can be changed, it would mean being a different person), but it really helped me to know myself better, know where they come from, where the root of them lay (a low self-esteem), and to prevent behaviours related to them that could ruin my life.

@Cierzo I see what you mean.
You explained it very well.
