I Dare to Live
One of my favourite moments of life is when everything is moving fast and we sit back and see the moment. Regardless of where we are at or where we are going, or what we are going through we can live the moment.
It is that moment driving down the highway with a couple friends at 1 am with music blaring. Joking and laughing about nothing at all as we enjoy each other's company.
We pull into a deserted parking lot, there are a couple of our friends cars parked already in a circle. They are standing around talking. Then the fun begins, we take turn speeding around the lot trying out a couple things. Hand brake turns, j-turns, jumping out of and into a moving car, riding on the hood of the car...
Then we park and start moving to the parking lot. This particular one has tall retaining walls with metal supporting beams, so we climb up them, spider climbing between the beam and the wall. Looking down on everyone, then firemaning it down. We sit around in the trucks and talk and joke. Drinks come out and are opened.
My friends are talking and I take my girlfriends hand and pull her back on me lying on the hood of my car. We start to make out there, the stars above, the street lights around. The engine warm beneath me, her body warm on top. Pushing her back I spin her around. One of my buddies puts on some music blaring out of the car and we dance. Laughter, more drinks and others are joining in. We are young and the night is yet new.
It is good to be young and free and out with people you love and who love you. Those are the moments we all live for. Pretty girl looking into my eyes as I spin her around. My friends clapping and joining in the crazy dance.
