I Hate Corrupt Police

I watch/read/listen to a ton of true crime, and there's something I've noticed. In 99% of cases, the police are the major reason why cases are bungled or never solved.

There are tons of accounts of police "misplacing" evidence, coercing confessions, releasing obvious suspicious people from custody (only to have them commit horrific crimes later), refusing to take reports from people who were victims to a crime, or otherwise dropping the ball. And sometimes, the police themselves ARE the criminals.

It's sickening. I believe local police departments should be dissolved and replaced by statewide officers who have way more training and ability.

Seriously doubt that would help. It'd be a bigger bureaucracy and less accountability.

@HannahSky I don't doubt it. It just seems that local police are always the ones fucking things up.

@DearAmbellina2113 Not in the majority of cases. We just don't hear about those.

I’ve listened to quite a few of them, too. Territoriality and turf protection seems to be a common thread, too.

I understand true crime.

Certain cases can't be solved because the criminals are too smart.

And second, TV series is dramaticized and politically motivated.

The above is never the reason to say " fuck the police" or something

@midnightsun I'm not talking about CSI or Law and Order. 🙄 I'm talking about actual true crime cases. The police bungle these cases MOST of the time.

@DearAmbellina2113 are you from America?

Then I agree with you.

Because we live in a society where we are actually guilty until proved innocent. People are thrown under the bus by society without any facts. Also drama sales and people want "Justice" at the cost of looking good.
