The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything..... 42
I hear the book was better than the flick. That was the first movie I actually considered walking out on.

@DudeistPriest the radio show was the best, the TV series was brilliant...I agree the movie was such a disappointment
@Spectre128 It sucked so hard it could compete with rapid decompression in space.

Definitely- the radio was great as it let your imagination create the pictures. TV series was good and saw it in a theatre in a marathon session. It was a great weekend. @Spectre128

The original radio show is still the best version, followed by the BBC TV adaptation.

Loved Douglas Adams especially his quote.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
I used it frequently as a project manager!

@Suesinglemom but at that time most programmers would have used hexadecimal notation for writing Ascii codes direct to buffers and * is 2A.

If you remember when Ford and Arthur return to earth and realise that the experiment was corrupted and the cave man puts up the question. "What is six times nine?" Arthur points out he always thought the universe was fundamentally flawed.

However many fans point out that 6x9 does equal 42 in base 13. To which Douglas commented "I don't make jokes in base thirteen." 😂😂

He then said he only picked 42 as he thought it the funniest number.
