I Wrote A Short Story

She exploded quietly into the room - into a presence long awaiting her arrival. As she glanced my way, my heart remembered that aching for connection so often desired, yet so seldom satisfied.
Then, her captive, deliberate gaze in my direction, sparked the dream in me of our actually meeting, and secret thoughts and wishes of what might lie beyond.
To my amazement and delight, she came to me, straight to me to where I sat - the confidence of a warrior defending the stars.
Without the least hesitation, she invited herself onto my lap, caressed me with those huge, haunting, hazel eyes
. . . and then, began to purr.
