I have had both

and I have found that I prefer women doctors. They tend to listen to me more and can be alot more gentle in certain procedures. This doesn't ring true in all cases just as there are really good men doctors, it has just been my experience. I just find them to have a better bedside manner and easier to talk to. I just came from one and the whole experience was actually pleasant.

Having had both make and female I think the key is communicating and being medically trained helps in my case. Still there are arrogant medical professionals that think they know it all and intimidate patients. We have had doctors tell us to find someone else if questioned too much. Sorry, but I will. It’s my body and my decisions.

@SageWanderer I have had both as well...and I know what you're talking about.

I've had both, very exceptional doctors. Maybe you're different in your own communication depending on the gender.

@HannahSky That could be a possibility. I've had good doctors of both genders too, but the females have been exceptional to me.

I really prefer female doctors too. As a woman I find them more understanding of my issues.

@Doomflower I can see that. I find they are more attentive when I discuss male issues too...they listen and are so easy to talk to.
