I Consider My Pets Family

Pets For Vets.... Only unconditional love can effectively make the process of healing possible.Sadly for those with no family or close friends, unconditional love is hard to come by. The presence and love of an animal is a wonderful gift. And can often mean the difference between life and death. [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBwj3FF1PGQ]

I lost my 14 year old 70 pound mutt last night. He was so very loving and loyal, and tried so hard to please all his life. Kept him till his back legs would no longer support him. Within hours he was just lying on the floor and passed very quickly. The vet thought because of the ways his rear hips where it might be the time to put him down. That was last Thanksgiving.
Glad he held in there so long.
Thank you as always for your wonderful posts.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loving pet.But he had a wonderful life with you.I kept my old dogs going for as long as I could, they both died of old age,I wish now looking back that I had one of them euthanized,as she must have suffered.I was selfish to have let her go on,just to keep her longer.Gita I had euthanized as she had a brain tumour and kept fitting even while on medications.

Thank You!
So difficult to know when the right time to euthanize is. Had a dog a few years ago that I put down when his back hips would no longer function.
Had 6 dogs 4 months ago; now I have 3. Stroke, cancer, and the last; old age I guess.

I have seen this in person of how a dog help a veteran with his issues and is amazing how connected they are. Too bad dogs don't last that long to continue helping people.

My pet was a huge dog. I considered him as a little brother...
