I Consider My Pets Family

My Little Rose.... I finally got my little dog form the Brightside sanctuary which is a small non profit animal rescue organisation, ran by dedicated people.I have never come across so many, well cared for and happy animals, they all blend in together, miniature horses, goats, sheeps, dogs and cats and all kinds of poultry, all sharing together in perfect harmony,it is like stepping into the pages of a fairy tale.
And, there was my little Rose, who had become available as her present owners relinquished her.She is a cross between a Poodle and a King Charles The Second Spaniel,a beautiful, gentle and very timid little dog whose original family did not love and care for as well her as they should have. The previous and second owners did not find her outgoing enough. She is now settled on my bed, under my Gita's old comforter and does not want to budge from there.I know that I love her and that no matter how long it takes she will have as long as she needs to settle in.I gave her a new name to start her new life, and she does remind me of a Rose.I have not heard her bark yet.

very inspiring-Brightside really seems to have it's priorities straight-unlike many of us...I'm glad you are letting little Rose acclimate at her own pace,it's only natural.Give the little trouper a treat for me when the time comes...as a former runaway/addicted/homeless/unemployable dumpster dawg myself,I can relate to the difficulties that changes can present...you'd get a pet friend medallion if there were such a thing.

Little Rose...what a perfect, beautiful name for the love you are opening up between you. She's so lucky to have finally found her "forever home". This can be a difficult world too bear witness to all the sadness in it. You've lifted us all up with this news. My very best wishes and love.

My kind of story.
You gave Rose the opportunity to share a great life with a wonderful person and she brought a new dimension back to you that had been missing since Gita's passing.
Thank you for sharing!

Congratulations! She is beautiful and reminds me of a "pic-a-poo" a friend of mine had when I was young - though I imagine she is bigger and softer with Spaniel in her. What a wonderful addition for you.

She does indeed looks like such a cutie and so adorable. I'm happy you both found each other and I hope the time you have spent together has been and continues to be quite uplifting.
Thanks for sharing such caring story 😊

While almost all my work has been with rescued dogs, but have had some foster dogs and a one in particular that had been house broken before took a week or so to get used to the new surroundings.
Glad she is warming up to you.
