I Remember Life Before the Internet

I am revving up my mind for a quick get away.
When something doesn't serve me with joy or brings me peace of mind.
Time to let it go!
It was in 2007 when I first turned on a computer.
First places I went were cooking sites, read about true events.
I had questions I wanted to ask and all I had to do was type them in and poof.. I had my answer.
SoulCast and EP were the first of my experiences on any social media.
Then they shut down, I felt lost, but they served me well.
It unlocked my soul and mind.
It freed up emotions just by typing out words and thoughts.
I didn't feel I had the patent on misery any longer. *smile*
I grew with the help of strangers.
I then went to Facebook. At first all the quotes and special groups kept me amused, I learned from there too.
I pretty much have exited Facebook.
Loads of people I know, very few I call "friends" there.
It's was fulfillment for the soul when I was lonely.
Then I decided to try to bring back my joy of writing and sharing with others here.
I never was one who messaged anyone much. Never really made a "friend" to exchange daily words with.
Posts, thoughts from others and myself run through my brain, hours, days after the fact.
Haunting … enough that it's unpleasant at times.
I guess the scales are tipping toward... unplugging!
I will miss your thoughts and words but understand the need to unplug. Just remember you have a place here will people know and adore you. 🤗
