I Love the Ocean At Night

Much like the majority of people on this earth, I love the ocean. Though I still don’t quite understand why it has this pull on me. It’s like the type of hypnosis that would drive a moth to the flame. Though hopefully, not with the same results.

The ocean has a great many lures, depending on what you are looking for. The lure that hooks me is not that of swimming or sunbathing - but rather, the view. It is this massive, unmoving force; destructive and beautiful. A tonic for a weary mind.

Night would then suit my purposes better. I get to ponder to the sights and sounds without having to deal with the multitude of people that flood the beaches at day. It can be a truly remarkable experience that captures and uplifts the soul.

I still recall the late night conversations I would have with the ocean - when I was not yelling at it or dancing at it. Let’s just say that my relationship with the ocean is complicated. It is my worst enemy and my greatest ally. It is my safety and my cage. It is my inspiration and my end...

I do hope to take you with me; through the hole in the wall. We can get stuck there during high tide and spend an evening singing to the ocean and dancing at the stars. Maybe in that moment you will see the ocean as I do... maybe you will not. Either way, I am curious to find out.

You put it well, and I too am drawn to the ocean/sea. The smell and the view, in summer or winter, I watch the sea from my window and marvel at its powers. Night time is my time too, just before dark..

The ocean is the heart beat of mother earth.
I used to love going to the beach with friends, especially on a moonlit night to talk, listen to music, just enjoy...
