I Believe Religion And Science Co-exist

I believe in God, but I'm also interested in science. I think, the bible should be read as a metaphorical and allegorical book, not as a history book. I believe that the universe is nearly 14 billion years old, but the big bang was God's work. Science describes the sky, the bible desribes heaven. I don't think that they really contradict each other.

Well, the Bible isn't one book. It's a collection of writings written over a 1500 year period, all of which are very varied in terms of genre. You have historical texts, poetry, law codes, proverbs, prophecy and apocalyptic literature among others. It is silly to say we should take it all literally, but it's equally wrong to say that it should all be seen as metaphorical or allegorical. It shouldn't be oversimplified like that.
