I Had To Write The Same Sentence Over And Over As Punishment

It is the most sadistic punishment created. Especially when you have to switch between pen and pencil every other word. I hate parents who did this

had to do that.. bart simpson style on a whiteboard, just with the added bonus of a sore butt

A very efficient punishment for a misbehaving girl is having her copy 25 pages of a phonebook, name-number, name-number, for many long hours... Odd digits in red, even digits in blue. It's extremely beneficial and helpful.

Another helpful addition for the girl might be to have her copy only those entries where the phone number ends with a certain sequence of digits, such as "67". In this way the girl has to concentrate all the time on her work.

Another important option would be to have her learn the first ten pages of her excerpt by heart. After a given number of hours the culprit would be obliged to stand straight, and she should start reciting every entry in the first ten pages of the book. She could also be asked to give the name that is associated with a certain phone number, or the number to a given name . This would be a wonderful little exercise that would help the girl to get a deep insight into what discipline really implies.

@helenS I used these ideas a few days ago on my daughter and they worked wonderfully. I had her copy 25 pages, odd digits in black, even digits in red.

It took a rather long time for her to do, and a very long time for me to check for accuracy

My kids used to complain that by being angry at them, and refusing to acknowledge their error, it was worse than if we had hit them. I would often hear, hit me and get it over with.
No. They did it out of love for me

My Mom was one of them...

@Valory: Taking your conduct into account, it appears your Mom has been extremely successful in showing you how to behave, and her methods (even though/because they were painful at times) have made you a very pleasant young woman. Not only did she teach you obedience and patience but also good manners. Not all young women have been that lucky during their formative years. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
@Valory: poor you..big ugs as always

@AGirlNamedKim: Thank you Kim, big hug for you to.
I never had that..I'm sure I would have hated it though
yeah, you don't forget immediately its true

@AGirlNamedKim: Yes the most significant part of a spanking occurs after the spanking. That's the time we learn our lesson Kim.
@helenS: Truer words have never been spoken and it is something anti-spankers don't get. Spankings (uniquely of all childhood punishments --for example writing lines does not) often create a learning opportunity where none was possible before where the moral reason of the child has an opportunity to grow. Here is an example from my Mom experience:https://similarworlds.com/7565041-I-Am-a-Mother/609752-A-while-back-I-was-on-a-road-trip-with-my-sister-m

There is nothing sadistic about it. It's a very appropriate form of discipline.
@GoodoldBob I agree on that part. It's an effective punishment, but I just hate it so much
GoodoldBob · 61-69, M
@CassiePatriot In a way, most kids would prefer almost anything else because most forms of discipline are passive - no internet, corner time, spankings, etc - they are not required to do anything except wait for it to be over.

It's the fact that they are made to actively do something
What is your reasoning for asserting that kids being spanked are not active but instead are passive?

Even if they don't resist and let it happen, just doing that involves action big time and will power and ... Getting a spanking is a major cooperative and active event, however it goes down.

I understand it was not pleasent but 'sadistic' .. .. .. do you realy think your parents enjoyed watching you do lines .. .. ..
No they did it out of love

It is isn't it. You did this?
SW-User
@helenS So you support the concept? Just asking.
helenS · 36-40, F
@SW-User It's less painful than other lessons.
SW-User
@helenS True... I guess that depends. Sometimes learning the moral of the story in an embarrassing fashion... lasts a long time. The writing o the board works for sure.. but from a different angle.
