Most all religion starts out with the same high ideals.
Faith in God " a power greater than the self "
Love of you fellow people, tolerance and understanding and working together for a better life but then the penalties come into play..
The "or else" and that's where they all come apart at the seems..
Not just because it's hypocritical but because someone has to guide us through the process of faith and the guides have power to decide who is faithful and who is not..
Power corrupts, universally and completely and every religion on earth has been corrupted by man..
No God of love could condemn his children.
No God of love would command his faithful to kill unbelievers..
No God of love would use fear to inspire faith..
That leaves a few possibilities.
1, the word of God has been destroyed by men for control of men.
2, God is not all knowing and all loving
3, God as we're led to believe in him, doesn't exist.
4, we've completely misunderstood the concept of God and his purpose in our lives.

If you think logically, religion is obsolete, well, other than the Holidays and festivals. There are different religions around the world, all claiming their beliefs are the best and non believers will suffer for not believing them. The truth is no matter what beliefs any person have or don't have, there will be no effect on them. Life goes on as if it doesn't matter. I left Christianity at 16 and there's nothing wrong with me or my family. To speak truthfully, ever since I started to think more openly, I felt better and I am able to be happy with myself than ever before. If I was a Christian, I wouldn't have let my mother get divorce which would be a pain for her. I would be close minded and mindlessly hate gays and trans. I would have bottled up all my anger and emotions believing God will save me which will never happen. So that concludes the discussion.

Religion is fine for sincere believers who practice what they preach. Religion is trash because of all the paedophile priests who are being exposed. Long-time coming.
