I Find Myself Overwhelmed With Sadness
A ball of flame, the lump in my throat,
Drown out by all the tears swallowed,
Seeping into the cracks of a fractured heart,
freezing in the cold lonliness of isolation,
Slowly prying it open, exposing the nerves,
Its swan song of loss and betrayal forever echo,
My walls of scars tissue grow with each thought of you, slowly numbing me to everything.
And in an instant it shudders,
the chaos that enveloped me thins,
if for only but a moment,
just long enough to see the stars.
The embers have been stoked to a degree that has reduced me to ash.
and so I sit here now unprotected,
waiting for the wind to take me away
Drown out by all the tears swallowed,
Seeping into the cracks of a fractured heart,
freezing in the cold lonliness of isolation,
Slowly prying it open, exposing the nerves,
Its swan song of loss and betrayal forever echo,
My walls of scars tissue grow with each thought of you, slowly numbing me to everything.
And in an instant it shudders,
the chaos that enveloped me thins,
if for only but a moment,
just long enough to see the stars.
The embers have been stoked to a degree that has reduced me to ash.
and so I sit here now unprotected,
waiting for the wind to take me away
