I Just Want To Vent

I need a vent...my step son who is usually a genuinely good kid can be frustrating sometimes. Right now he is in his room, which is near ours, watching YouTube. It is almost 1am. He just clanged around in the kitchen for half an hour or more cooking himself something and cutting stuff where he shouldn’t making me feel tense. He is 16 by the way. My partner, his dad, is sleeping soundly while I am wide awake. I am a light sleeper. But generally can’t sleep unless it’s dark, silent or I’m super tired. I wish he would be less selfish, have more respect, learn to think of others and just be more responsible. I had no part in his bringing up until last year so he is already well past the parental molding stage. I guess I was brought up differently. I just needed to vent. It can be frustrating especially when my partner gets to sleep so much easier than I do. Gah whatever.
