How did you lose your loved one ??

I was only 7 years old..
One day my parents , eldest sister , and third oldest sister decided to go to the capital to buy wedding gifts for my other sister who didn’t go with them (as a surprise)
And the last thing I heard from my parents was “we are going on a trip sweetie , we are coming home soon”
But they never made it home. They got into a car accident on their way back, hit by a truck driver who wasn’t paying attention while driving.
the only survivor was my third oldest sister who was rushed into the hospital with life threatening injuries. But my parents and eldest sister died at the spot (my eldest sister left 3 babies behind motherless )

My family never sat me down and explained what happened, I was too young to comprehend death anyways..
I had a nightly habit to sleep with my parents and that didn’t stop even after they were gone.
I’d go to their room every night and sneak into their empty bed even though no one was there in the first place to “sneak” in anymore and I’d just hug the cold pillows till I fall asleep hoping they’d be there when I flutter my eyes open in the morning.
Surprisingly their scent was still there
No one dared to change the sheets..
Day by day the heart warming scent slowly faded away and so did the memories...
to me my parents never lied , so they were on a trip and coming home soon...or that’s what I tried to keep believing in, But the cruelty of the world didn’t allow that to continue and eventually made me realize that they’re never coming back home. that’s when I grieved for the first time , I was around the age of 9 I cried my heart and eyes out.

My family told me later in life that when the death topic was once mentioned in a conversation my eldest sister actually said “i hope the day I die , I die with my parents”
And indeed she did. The world works in mysterious ways.
To me the death of a loved one isnt what’s scary, it’s what comes after. No one prepares you for it.
My grandparents from my mothers side died shortly after my parents and eldest sister did , it was a tough year on my family.

I might have only managed to live shortly with my parents, but during those 7 years I felt like the heavens have relocated to my heart...

So I dedicate this post with all my love,
to my dad who when he’d catch me staying up at night instead of getting mad hed just turn off the lights of my room while saying “ hi and hello to the beautiful girl who her shine beat electricity 💫”
And to my mom who made me feel like the whole world revolves around me 💕
And to my eldest sister who left me 2 beautiful nieces and a nephew who make me laugh on the days when I don’t even feel like smiling
❤️ ❤️

I came home from work and found my wife dead, gone for several hours to judge by the coldness of her body. I cannot imagine though the loss of so much by someone so young. I relied on God that night and he got me through. My prayers for you and your family.

That is a part of life and you wrote a nice piece of your history. Our loved ones pass but only in a physical state. We keep them alive by telling others about them and keeps them in our hearts.

My wife died in my arms four years ago from a pulmonary embolism. I knew she was gone within a minute but I kept performing CPR for 15 minutes until the paramedics arrived.
