I Accept Responsibility For My Own Actions
My philosophy is that it's better (and hurts less) to go ahead and admit it when I've done something stupid.
Experience has taught me that there's always someone nearby quite willing to point out my mistakes. If I bring them up first, all the other person can do is agree. Any additional criticism is just "piling on."
Taking responsibility for my own actions also makes it less likely that I will repeat the stupid ones.
