I Love Game Of Thrones

Who's your favorite character in Game of Thrones?

I personally love the Hound. His relationship with Arya is so cute! And I love how protective he is over Sansa, even though he has an odd way of showing it. Also the way he saved Loras Tyrell and avenged Septon Ray shows that he's nothing but a sad man in need of some love. He might be one of the few people in the entire show who actually has a good heart.

Another top contender for my favorite character will have to be Tyrion, a complex, intelligent man full of humor, wisdom and tragedy.

Can't wait for Season 8! And can't wait for George RR Martin's Winds of Winter, though I've taught myself to stop hoping for it since its publication has been delayed for so long.

I adore the Hound on the show. The thing about him, which the show points out over and over again, is that he is the one person who sees through a lot of the BS in that world. I'm not talking in terms of the philosophies or theologies, but in terms of what happens with people really in that world, and what it takes to survive. Tyrion is close to that kind of a view too, but he still has a certain amount of unrealistic views on how humanity works... like when he thinks the slave masters could be negotiated with, or when he trusts Shae completely and doesn't see how her stance might change.

He knows the reality, but ignores it over and over again, because he has ideals and that leads to believing in the 'nobler' options.

The Hound is the complete realist, and you might say, in that world, that means a pessimist. In his interactions with Sansa, he sees someone too caught up in the fantasy of the world. A young girl who believes in Knights and fair princes and doesn't see betrayal brewing all around her. He constantly tries to break that bubble of hers.

In Arya, he sees another set of delusions. Arya is not as naive as Sansa, but she still believes, when he meets her, in 'heroism'. Her fantasies have more to do with how actual war and death happens in that world. He tries to tell her, as seen in episode 5 of season 4... that her combat teacher died at the hands of a lesser fighter, because that lesser fighter had "armor and a big effing sword".

Arya learns a lot from him too, by the point she leaves him.

The Hound is plagued by trauma, and the betrayal he felt at the hands of his own family. Everyone else was fighting people who hurt their families... but the Hound was in conflict with his own brother, and not for power (like the Baratheons).

He stopped believing in 'heroes and villains', and sees that only strength and realism can help him survive in a world where anyone can hurt you, a world where his own brother was his enemy.

From brother Ray, he learns that maybe life does not have to be this way, but then it is quickly snuffed out by the needless death of that very man. When Ray tries to tell him that "It's never too late to come back"... or "violence is a disease, and you can't cure a disease by spreading it to more people"... the Hound says, "You cannot cure it by dying either".

He is searching for a way...a way to find peace with himself. He knows he has done many wrongs, and at least by season 7, he is trying to make up for some of it.

I love that character. Complex, menacing and no BS views about life.

Tyrion is my favourite too. And Jaimee, he has changed from a cruel person to a good man
Yes, I have a softness in my heart for the Hound. I agree, he is very protective of Arya and Sansa.
Tyrion is a multi-faceted character, I think he wants to be a good man, he was a protector for Sansa also.
Can’t wait to see how this new season plays out.

I hear nothing but good things about Game Of Thrones but I watch too many other different shows to even make time for it.
