I Am Spanish

It had to happen sooner or later. A terrorist attack just happened in Barcelona. A man driving a van ran over a crowd at the Ramblas. An avenue in the centre of the city that is always crowded. They talk of at least two people dead and many more injured.

My family were yesterday in Barcelona. By the time the attack happened today, they were in that area.

Nobody is safe.

May the victims rest in peace.

Facts are scarce ... rental van ... 2-3 city blocks .. all witness accounts disturbing ... gun shots ... carnage ... hostages? ... bar? ... 2nd van?

@questionWeaver Yes, and apparently they keep hostages.
I understand that no photos or videos must be shown now, out of respect for the victims and families.
But after a few days, they have to be seen. People must see reality with their own eyes. People must realise there is blood and this is war

Yes ... witnesses are describing horror ... am amazed at the number of emergency vehicles

They are interrupting with updates constantly

Rex, our Secretary, just spoke of ready to assist Spain ... that FBI resources have been made available to Spain ... he got cut off with breaking news

@questionWeaver We have very good police forces. After decades of fighting Basque terrorist group ETA (not operating any more) they are very well trained. It is their merit such an attack had not happened until now, but we were certain that one day or another it had to happen
