I Am a Mother
So, tomorrow is Mothers Day. It's an interesting day.
The whole mother thing...mothers present, mothers passed, mothers-in-waiting, mothers of angels, mothers estranged, mother monsters, mothers MIA...there's one for all of us. We've all got one somewhere. I have 3. My birth mother, my adopted mother and the woman I truly felt like a daughter to...my now deceased (ex) mother-in-law. Each have a unique place in my life.
These days I don't really feel like I have a mother present in my life, but I am blessed to be called mum by 3 beautiful, beautiful children. My precious little babies have been tucked into bed and gone to sleep filled with excitement in anticipation of presenting mummy with their carefully selected gifts and craft in the morning. I know I fail beyond belief at times and I've made some terrible decisions that have affected their little lives, but for better or worst I am theirs and they are mine and each day all I can do is purpose to do better than the last.
