I Miss My Childhood

Yesterday, after much internet browsing, I finally discovered who the author of the illustration books I loved in my childhood is. Richard Scarry. I was surprised to see he is really famous all over the world.

For many years I have cursed not keeping those books. Yesterday when I found his unmistakable animal creatures, I felt shivers. I don't know why in my adult years, these figures have been the portrait of paradise lost.

Busy Town Schoolhouse. Love Huckle and Lowly Worm.
I only got to know about Richard Scarry in 2005. Yes. My boy and I love the characters. Brings back so many memories. Thanks for sharing.

@novembermoon: We must find some escape. Some place to fly to, and some hand to grab to fly with

@Cierzo:

The Appletree farm is another one of my favourites. Lovely pictures on every page.

My son loved those books. I think there was a mouse or worm on every page we had to find.

@Kindheartedguy: I could spend hours reading them as a kid. I looked for them in vain in the internet for years. I don't remember about the mouse, but when they are in my hands again will for sure look for it.

They had a television show here too that M liked. I didn't realize his books went so far and wide either.
