I Like Mathematics

Did you know?

1.Different names for the number 0 include zero, nought, naught, nil, zilch and zip.

2.What comes after a million, billion and trillion? A quadrillion, quintillion, sextillion, septillion, octillion, nonillion, decillion and undecillion.

Haha. :)

Cool! Here is something a little odd: In the United States, we have different names for numbers than some people in other parts of the world do, even in other parts of the English speaking world. So for example, we all say that 1,000,000 is one million. The number 1,000,000,000 is called one billion in the US but is called one thousand million in many other countries. And so the number1,000,000,000,000 is called a trillion in the US but is called a billion in those other places. Confusing! The way to avoid the confusion is to use scientific notation.
