I Lost My Mother to Cancer

She Died In My Arms...

It's been over 2 years now and still too painful to recall in detail here. We were as close as a mother and son could be. The best parts of me came from her, and I'll never stop missing her until I see her again. It was so painful for her at the end but her courage and unstoppable spirit gave me something more to admire her for. A year before we thought she would reach into her 90's but it was not to be. I try to think of all the good memories of a lifetime when the one image of her face comes into my mind the day she silently slipped away in my arms. I love you mom!

I lost my mother in 2003. While there was sadness, there was also happiness in that she is now free of the pain. I know she is in heaven, which also takes away my pain of missing her.

The biggest pain for me is that my kids never really got to know their grandmother, (my youngest was 5 when she died).
