I Pretend I'm Okay

How do you help a young person suffering from depression get out of it?
rckt148 · 61-69, M
many different things help different people
my saving grace was being reunited with my kids that I had taken from me
my faith and wanting to be the best Dad I knew how to be helped me overcome a lot
PTSD ,the nightmares ,the memory of my childhood
My kids had been through a lot themselves all the years we had been apart
And to not blame me for not being there ,that was amazing
I began to be thankful for the things I did have ,and let go of the things I had lost
I learned how to forgive others that hurt me ,and finally ,I learned how to forgive me .
I suggest people pray for others that they might also be healed
to help others so it helps us too
and to give and help others where we can .
Take a trip to a vocational rehabilitation work shop
A day with some of those clients ,it can make you wake up to just how blessed you are ,,and maybe move you to volunteer ,,improve your life while helping them

@rckt148 this will be really helpful. I guess we are so blessed and we don't know until we catch a glimpse of what others are going through or have gone through and that's when we know we must be really thankful. Thanks
Get them to a doctor and be there for them and be patient cause it can take a long time.
