@Harriet03 I hope so too but I fear that unless he looses by a wide margin he'll declare the election invalid and refuse to leave. Then, if he does leave it will be hours before his appointed departure so that Pence can pardon him. He's just trash but he knows how to milk the system.

@polyandrym66 My personal political vieuws have nothing to do with this. Even tough I recognise the problems of a constitutional system, I do prefer it over certain other forms of governement. Because I'm aware of what the problems are with those other forms of governements. That's also why those guys that wrote the American Constitution, made it so hard for a person to accumulate power. And that even in the system where power is accumulated, it has to be checked and balanced out by other powers. The president is not above the legeslasative branch and no one is above the judical branch. But Judical branch doesn't make the laws, it just interpretates it. Power in this system is super difused, because no one can take full control. That's the diffrence between a constitutional-democracy and a form of governement where one man or group has all the power. Because in that last form of governement, the liberty of the individual is quickly subjugated to the power of the sovereign. Something that American revolution kicked out because it became to opressive, and something that the fench literally beheaded [i](ironacly: moved to a direct democracy -> Tyrany -> Emperor ... that's one of the big diffrences between the french and the american revolution right there)[/i].

If the elections of the American people are what they were, then I'll recognise that. I may have my political believes, but they are still subjugated to the rules which I cast my vote under. I still have respect for this system. And because I have respect for this system, I respect Trumps' presidency. But because I have respect for this system, I also respect the right of the legeslative branch to investigate the actions of the excecutive branch. And I also disrespect anny excecutive branch that uses it's power for it's own personal gain. Not because I'm against or for someone... but because it's the rules.

I'm more talking about people that seem to be having a hard time with the ruleset. That use it in their favor when they see fit. Or that see the rules as a nuisance just because their hero is subjugated by them.

I also confront people that use ideas like the popular vote in their favor when it suits them. And go against it when it suits them. It's kinda opportunistic. But you are the first person that seems to defend the conservative party on this, that actually uses the popular vote as an argument in the last 3 years. Because it's ussually conservatives that defend it, when it comes to the elections of 2016. And partisan democrats that forget that it also works in their favor when the votes turn out that way.
