I Do Not Need Pity, I Just Need To Vent

This story is true
Utah nurse
Have u seen the video of a nurse being arrested! All she did was tell the cops they couldn't get blood from a victim that was dead ( I think) . And the cop got mad and said we r done! Then he arrested her! All she was doing was her job ! She was realeased with all charges dropped! Poor girl I feel so bad for her she was so upset. He even handcuffed her! That cop just had too much power I think. He got fired.

I hope there's real outrage over this.
I saw the footage last night and the guy clearly overstepped his bounds. Since it's unclear why he wouldn't take notice of what professionals were telling him, he clearly abused his position and power.
If you don't tell folk when they're wrong, how do you ever hope they'll get better ?

@Picklebobble2 good. Hopefully he learns from his mistake.

@SW-User I don't think there was necessarily any malice in what he did. But again, he either knew exactly that arresting her was wrong, or he should have. There's no getting around that.

I think he should be fired .

Sadly no, he did not get fired. Suspended from blood drawing but still active.

Gratefully, she was released with the charges dropped. It's reported that all police officers in that city will have a refresher course on when the nurses can and can't draw blood for them. It's a shame it had to come to this.
