I Believe It Is The Little Things That Count The Most

There is a specific formula Hollywood uses to write scripts. Based on Joseph Campbell's book The Hero With a Thousand Faces. Which takes a hero on an adventure... From the beginning, where we meet the hero and bond to him and all his endearing flaws. We then follow our hero through the adversities which force him to recognize his flaws. Then finally, getting the girl, after accepting and ultimately overcoming said flaws.

This formula with all it's stages is supposed to make all viewer identify with the hero. But I don't think that is the way anyone's life really is. Instead of one hero with a Thousand Faces, realistically, a Thousand heroes with one face makes much more sense.

Typically, the hero in every story has an implausible burden on his shoulders! When was the last time the fate of the world (or the universe for that matter) was in YOUR hands?

The fact that our problems exist on a monumental scale, is real... But to have ONE person, or even a small group of people conquer the beast, is just fairy tail fiction. One person is never the lone hero in any journey today. If Hollywood wants us to identify with their storylines and characters, perhaps it is time we show how the poor, noble, everyday, regular people take down the evil, greedy companies, run by your run-of-the-mill rich people.

Change happens when a whole bunch of people do one little thing, not when one person takes the adversary on by himself. Having many heroes also gives the audience members a greater chance they will identify with at least one of the heroes.

It's about the faceless masses overthrowing the government. The guy fawkes masks are much in evidence. I'd give it a try.
