I "Am Very Open-minded"

It serves me to earnestly try to be open-minded. There is no right or wrong just several shades of grey, because understanding is the key.

If I understand why, it makes sense and gives me an additional way of looking at life. That doesn't mean I have to agree, but it really isn't about that at all. Sometimes understanding where a behavior comes from allows you to be okay.

I disagree. There are actions that are demonstrably wrong, like brainwashing someone into a belief system before they have the ability to fully understand what it is they're agreeing to believe in.

@mljenkins what actions were taken to put yourself into a position to allow someone else to have that much power over you

Are you kidding? Let's hope so, but if not:

1. A child is born
2. Its parents raise it to believe in a deity and certain mythos

That damn child, giving its parents power like that. Why didn't it just leave?

@daisymay Has I pointed out, there are exceptions to everything so your comment is not applicable here...

@mljenkins I responded to your opinion with my own, and then you challenged my opinion.

Then you went on to change from:
There is no right or wrong just several shades of grey
to:
Of course I know there are exceptions to everything
If you knew that, why ask me to explain?
As long as nobody who can’t reasonably be expected to protect their own interests gets hurt (by my definition) - I don’t care what others do.

My open-mindedness stops when behaviors inflict damage on innocents.
