Is Belief in God , God given ?

Yes, the Bible says that everyone is given a measure of Faith.
I have to have faith that God has induced spirit into selected individuals ... who evolved as saints.

I will say, it is my impression that many evolve to faith via paths most likely heavenly induced.

I will also say, while born with original sin, I can not make a good argument that all are also born with faith.

Matthew 13: 3
Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred,(F) sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom(P) and does not understand it, the evil one(Q) comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.(R) 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth(S) choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

@Pfuzylogic So you are saying that the word of God IS God given.. ok.

@usher
Yes, that is the seed that can be sown and take root.

The Holy Spirit converts and saves.

Baptism by water is of man.
The Spirit is a baptism of fire.

@Iwillwait I agree
No. It is unfortunately taught.

@RandomForest I disagree

Yes, it is the question.
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
No, just a superstitious mythology to entrap humans in fear. While there is more than this world, the traditions are just psychological traps.

Of course you do. You are not me. @usher
I feel as though as surely as He wrote the law on the Israelites' hearts, He did more writing on a wider scope. Hebrews and Romans would back that up
@usher the TL;DR is: yes. The ML is that God endowed people with certain instincts. Awareness of Him is one of them
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
No. People in non-religious locations have no awareness because it is not real. They kill missionaries who are so arrogant as to want to change their culture. Deservedly so. Religion is arrogance. @ImperialAerosolKidFromEP

@FlowersNButterflies That wasn't the question
