I Believe In Ghosts

I live an hour away from Tombstone, Arizona. For a writer and historian, It's a literal goldmine into the past. And one street - Allen Street - out of all the others in this tiny town of 1380 people, has been cordoned off to vehicular traffic, and transformed into what it looked like in 1881, the year of the infamous shootout at the OK Corral here. This one street has been preserved, restored, and re-built, through old photographs and books. The presence is eerie, particularly at the OK Corral itself. Great gift shops and restaurants too. But the eeriest incident happened in 1996, on the edge of town. Here is Boot Hill Cemetery, where a lot of the desperadoes of that era are buried, including Billy Clanton, Frank McLaury, and his brother Tom McLaury, who were killed in the famous gunfight. But in 1996, a tourist wanted to take a picture of his friend dressed in period clothes. Nothing unusual - until he had the film developed, and discovered something that was not there when he took the picture! Who was it? No one knows. But one thing's for sure - he'd been dead a really long time!
Want an additional thrill? Go to your computer and type out http://tombstonechamber
.com. It's linked to a camera feed atop a high pole - and it overlooks Allen Street itself - live. There are men & women in period clothing, and every day they re-enact a shootout. Just keep in mind the time differences. We're Mountain Standard Time. I can't wait to go back!
Creepy !!
The restored street sounds cool. It's a shame I live so far away.
