I Like Philosophy

I’ve always had a penchant for philosophy, even since I was young. I used to read philosophical teachings and theories. Like Solipsism, the idea that only your mind exists. I’ve read many theories, but one of my favorites is a type of solipsism that I happened to come across in a science magazine. It basically stated that what we perceive to be something isn’t what it really is, but our minds are conforming it to suit our realities and perceptions. So while we all exist which is contrary to solipsism, the things we also perceive to exist with us is our brain acclimating, trying to adapt so we can understand what we perceive.
The theory itself is interesting. I’d like to find a way to test this hypothesis. It’s sort of like, Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover.
Over the years I’ve spent an innumerable amount of time studying human behavior, philosophizing humanities actions as a whole and on an individual spectrum, and I’ve come to the conclusion that we humanity as a whole only look out for ourselves even at the cost of others or pieces of ourselves. That’s not something that sits well with me. When we could be accomplishing great things as a species if we banded together, we won’t, mostly because the sacrifices would be detrimental to all those involved, and people are so petty they aren’t willing to relinquish something now in order to gain something greater at a later point.
