I Wrote a Letter
I wish I was born first.
If I was born first, I would be a doctor already. I could be treating our mother. I could be helping her with the pain that so often incapacitates her.
If I was born first, she would be comfortable in a nice home.
I could buy her the beautiful clothes, and all the lovely jewellery she deserves.
Everything she's ever wanted, I would find a way to give it to her.
I would help her become a citizen, I could help her open that boutique she always wanted.
If I was born first, my little sister would have a garden to play in, and tutors to help her in school.
If I was born first, I would have done something with my life. I wouldn't have held on to that bitterness that you have for every human being for no fucking reason.
Why can't you be grateful? Is it too much to ask for you to tell our mum where you live, to visit once in a while so she knows you're alright? Is it too much to ask you to put aside your pride and work with our dad to help mum?
You throw away every fucking opportunity because you think you're too good for it, and it's infuriating. You're able bodied, you're young, you're talented, you're intelligent, but you're so nauseatingly emotional. Have some respect, be responsible, be filial. No one has done anything to you, but you act like you've been wronged by the entire world.
You don't care about anyone but yourself. So keep doing drugs and wasting your life away. We'll keep living like you never existed.
I'm the one that's going to save our family. I'm the one that's going to lift us out of poverty. Not because I'm better than you, but because I don't turn my back on people that care about me. I wish you were different.
