I feel like you should understand me better than you do. I mean, after all these years. I know I’m super secretive, that I manoeuvre constantly, & I haven’t always told you the absolute truth because it’s none of your damn business. But all the same, we’ve known each other a long time. It’s not my fault if you don’t see what you need to do.

& it’s not my fault that you never see it through.

Actually, it is your fault. People will know of you what you show them. What you've shown this person is a secretive, maneuvering person who lies when it suits them. That's what they know. If you want them to know differently, show them differently.

@MarkA I think it’s probably a defence mechanism overall. Like I’ve only, in the last couple of years introduced my best friends to each other. I weight & measure everything. I examine from every angle. I grew up in a family where you had to protect yourself. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's become a habit for you. I have similar habits about certain things. Part of me knows I'm being over protective and maybe irrational, but if it's worked ok for me so far, my whole life, I'm worried about changing things in case I lay myself open to 'harm' from other people. i think that's a perfectly normal reaction personally
