I Hate Christianity

According to christianity, Satan was created as a perfect being and given a rather cushy number in heaven. He sacrificed all that to stand up against the oppressor ("god") to set us free. Such an entity is deserving of respect yet ungrateful christians hate Him.

This deity supposedly gave the angels a microsecond to have freewill and a full third of them left. Bad management.

[c=#7700B2]no they just pick and choose what parts they want to believe with their religion. the bible contradicts itself over and over and over again yet people are so brainwashed into their religious cult that they see no flaws yet its all in plain site if they actually just read a bible lol [/c]
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]funny how the non religious seem to read bibles more then the religious do[/c]
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@PlumBerries: If the religious people read their bibles they'd become non-religious too.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]I wish that would be true but I think they are so brainwashed that they would just twist everything around and quote certain parts just to try and back peddle around the non stop nonsense of the bible or bibles[/c]
If people actually read scripture then they would be quite disgusted with what is in them , another example is the " Talmud " if pro Jewish people would actually read what they believe then , "YEAH OMFG" they really really would understand how sick and twisted their religion is, but yet again to coward to say and still paint Islam and Christianity as satanist ?? When it's ok to have sex with three year olds ?? Are all Jewish like that ?? If it's in their holy book then that mean yess ??? But in reality it's not true , not all Jews are like that , well I hope !!!

It seems pretty clear that the angel who fell, becoming Satan, was far from perfect.

I am not aware of any bible verse that indicates he was "created as a perfect being" as you say.

Also, he thought himself equal to God. He did not "stand up against the oppressor", he was cast down from Heaven into the earth, where he remains as god of this world.

God gave free moral agency to him and all the angels. Satan took 1/3 of the angelic host with him - they now serve here as demons.

God gave the same free moral agency to you and me. The difference between us and the angels is that we are created in God's image, and they are not. Also, they only exist in the spiritual world, where as we are spirits who live in a physical body.

We are higher than the angels, and they were created to serve us and God.

While you are here, you have a choice; to serve God or serve Satan. You can not serve both.

If you read the end of the book, you can see which one wins.

Not surprisingly, it's the one who wrote the book.

(The one who wrote the book also created the universe, space, and even time itself - so He does have an advantage!)

@suzie1960: "in his image" does not mean a carbon copy. Otherwise we would all be Gods.

If you are going to interpret scripture, it is important to be able to think.

It is also important to be a believer. There are a lot of places in the bible that say it will not make any sense to non-belivers.

So the fact that you don't understand the bible is itself a fulfillment of bible prophecy!

@StrictLoving: Those of us able to think aren't deceived by christian fairy stories. You're just repeating the same old rubbish, that one needs to believe (be deceived in by) it before one can see the evidence. Only gullible fools do that.

@suzie1960: You simply have a different faith that I do. You choose to believe there is no God and I choose to believe there is. Neither of us has any proof. It is a matter of faith.

What I find foolish is for a person to call another of foolish only because they are of a different faith.

14 Billion years ago the universe sprang into existence. All matter and energy was created in an instant and all the dimensions of space and time with it, and even the laws of physics that govern it.

The fundamental difference between you and me is that I believe something caused it and you believe that nothing caused it.

We have no proof. Only faith.

I must confess, your faith is far greater than mine.

The greatest miracle ever to occur has to be the spontaneous formation of the entire universe out of nothingness. To have faith that this was caused by nothing at all takes far more faith than I can muster.

I am quite pleased that you did n't mention the dirty fork.......Monty Python

Seriously though, does all the above illustrate just how divisive an influence a religion can be?

I am pleased for people whose faith can get them through something horrible, but don't impose it on somebody else. Let them find it for themselves.

Let's all enthuse or disagree about for example, music. Could anybody's taste in e.g. music, start a dispute or a war or a pogrom or an inquisition?

That's not what I come away with.

His very job in heaven was to create a form of conflict. He was created to be "the opposer" and "the accuser." Opposed to man, not to God. As part of the grand design, the satan was there to be the enemy of mankind. He was a little too good at it. And for that he's accused of "jealousy" and "pride," and eventually kicked out of heaven.

Read the opening chapters of Job. Satan was just doing his job in that instance. I don't know if he was late for work or something; when he appears in heaven, God asks, "Where have you been?"

Other angels were cast out for loving humans too much, for taking human wives for themselves.

Very good point. According to the bible, Jesus only gave up his weekend, Satan is the true saviour of mankind.
