If you had a bit of knowledge of the facts you would realise that is not the case. The Bible is the best attested ancient book in terms of manuscripts and purity of text . Text your critics can go right back and see what the original actually said and the version we have now is about 99% pure . Nothing of the 1% that is doubtful affects anything we believe . Your point is a commonly held View among people who are ignorant of the facts but it is simply not true.. @Ynotisay

The problem is you would not believe the carefully researched facts because you don't want to. There is allsorts of rubbish on the Internet for you to believe. I like to believe things which have a weight of research behind them. @Ynotisay

@Speedyman What about those pointing out the flaws in your assumptions? The first chapters of the original bible weren't written until about 30 years after the death of Jesus. Now how good are you at remembering things from 30 or more years ago with crystal clarity?

The New Testament is the best attested source of ancient literature there is. Today we would assume a biography written from original sources 30 years after the event to be pretty accurate. If you look in the early chapter of Luke he says he has gone back to the original sources and carefully researched them. Research proves that Luke was a very accurate historian indeed. If you're going to make the assumption you do it you can just about get rid of all ancient history and a lot of history from there on. @HerKing
