One learns the real meaning of love from the mother; and knowledge from the father. No love is greater than that of a parent to their child. Our parents are a door of mercy that Allah opened for us, we should never close it. There's nothing that can outweigh parents' prayers for their children.
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:
[quote]"Do not detest your fathers; he who detested his father committed infidelity."[/quote]
