Tbh, when I move away from this state/country...
I'm going to miss it a little.
It'll sound crazy but... I'm going to miss the little ghost towns with cracked roads and quiet mom and pop shops, the junkyards, the pastures and hay bales in the distance, the cattle and horses, the thunderstorms that crash along the plains, the BBQ and people wearing their Chiefs/Royals clothes every weekend.
But I'm a city girl at heart and I want to live near one. When I lived in a suburb (temporarily), it felt different... Natural and nice. But the storms were different, because the sky didn't turn a sickly grey-green before a tornado, and there were no pastures or cornstalks in sight. Just... Cuddle up on the edge of a couch and continue reading as it rains. Horns honking outside every once in a while and people chatting at a neighborhood gathering.
🥺
