@Hayleywg Your school was kinder than mine 😟 We were supposed to try to borrow kit from another girl, but if that didn't work you had to take part in your knickers. I was very small for my age and other girls' shorts usually did not fit me 😥
In my first school it was just ordinary we all did PE in our knickers. When I moved up I was actually surprised we got to wear shorts and a tee. Throughout school though i was barefoot in PE
I went to a mixed school till 12 and if you forgot your kit we had to do it nude and a few did forget . The one I remember is the day we had swimming and it was chucking it down with rain so we all decided to tell the teacher we had all forgot our swimmers .It didn't work and when we tried to say we hadn't they made us do it nude anyway it really backfired .In high school we did PE nude swimming nude and a lot more .I went to a private all boys boarding school in the 70s .
@Rhodesianman Did you enjoy your PE and did you enjoy the barefoot aspect of PE or did you were trainers. I hated the smelly sweaty things even with socks. You were never allowed socks only incase you slipped.
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I can imagine it must have felt that way, especially if you got to hear what was happening to your predecessors while you waited. Poor you!
@BlackBlossom It was always Barefeet and never any outdoor shoe or sock allowed in. they were left at the door. Lads just enjoyed kicking the shoes and socks off and pulling the school socks off and often the socks never went back on. You only remembered at home when you removed shoes at the front door.
@CutieAmy It could be, but not so bad if every girl is dressed like that. Much worse when you forget and are the only girl running about in her undies 😬
@KellyLancaster Ironically I expect that must have made her even more noticeable 🙄 When I did gymnastics in my undies I just sort of got on with it and blended in with the others.
@GkB01 I hope you really enjoyed the Barefoot experience with your friends and that you were never disciplined for going as God intended in our Barefeet. Cheer. Sitting writing this in my barefeet.
@GkB01 Thanks, it is a great feeling of freedom, running around in barefeet and no smelly trainers. I encourage all my pupils now and they agree that barefeet is best.
It would probably have been vest and pants at first school and PE kit after that. Bare feet for inside PE for all lessons for me from the age of about 8.
@Adec757 That is because we enjoyed going in Barefeet. it was not a punishment but enjoyment. Most teenage lads today would prefer barefeet as some schools insist for some reason to make you wear trainers. A load of crap. Barefeet is best and should be a persons own choice. I would never as a PE teacher make someone go in barefeet unless it was a lesson in gymnastics, fitness or obstacles and games. Lads in our all boys school really appreciated that we allowed barefeet in PE and would chat about the benefits. Most loved volleyball, badminton and basketball in barefeet. Hazards like standing on someones toes never existed as standing on a persons trainers was a hazard. Badminton in barefeet was tops as you got faster movement and grip and turning. Try it if you never had.
