I Actually Admire People Who Are Painfully And Brutally Honest

Do you really?

No, I don't. Before being honest with others, we need to be completely honest with ourselves, particularly about our true motives for saying whatever we're about to say, or doing whatever we're about to do. Are we really being brutally honest in order to benefit the person we're talking with?

I don't think most "brutally honest" people are really honest with themselves about that. If they were, they would (hopefully) be a little more gentle. Rain that falls hard runs off into the gutter and doesn't nourish the land or its plants or fruits at all. But rain that falls softly soaks into the soil and nourishes the plant life that grows there. People who just have to share their infinite wisdom with others, whom they consider ignorant or even stupid, need to ponder these words. Not to be condescending or anything, but I've often wanted to say this to some people.

No. It’s rationalizing rudeness most often.
